Job Overview:
The Deputy Director of Programs is a pivotal role within the IRC's Abilene office, responsible for overseeing and implementing all direct service programs. The position encompasses a variety of programming areas, including refugee resettlement, economic empowerment, education, youth services, health initiatives, and food and Agriculture programs. The Deputy Director will play a crucial role in office management and administrative tasks while representing the IRC to external audiences to enhance awareness and support for the organization's mission. This position requires a strong onsite presence in Abilene, ensuring that all programs align with IRC's goals and client needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure compliance with all contractual and reporting requirements, maintain quality Data Collection, and oversee fiscal management of programs. Responsibilities include ensuring client success through high-quality services, implementing donor-compliant program activities, and creating annual Fundraising strategies. The Deputy Director will foster strong inter-program relationships, develop strategic community partnerships, and represent the office in external meetings. Additionally, the role involves providing leadership to program supervisors, recruiting and training team members, and managing program budgets to meet proposed goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a graduate degree in business, non-profit management, public Administration, or a related field. A minimum of eight years of professional experience with progressive responsibility in Program Management and supervisory roles is required. Strong experience in program and budget management, strategic planning, and Monitoring and Evaluation is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to promote an organizational culture reflecting IRC’s core values and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, while a graduate degree in relevant fields such as business, non-profit management, public administration, or human services is preferred. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of program management and the operational needs of the IRC.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of eight years of professional work experience, with a focus on progressively responsible roles that include supervisory and program management experience. Candidates should have a proven track record in implementing programs related to refugee resettlement, immigrant services, or similar initiatives serving vulnerable populations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial, particularly those relevant to the communities served by the IRC, enhancing communication and service delivery.
