Job Overview:
The Community Impact Director, Health Equity position is a full-time role based in the Philadelphia area, specifically covering the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. This role is grant-funded through December 31, 2025, and is pivotal in driving health impact goals related to hypertension, Nutrition Security, and health equity. The Director will be responsible for establishing community-based interventions, facilitating training and wellness programs, and engaging with local health centers to improve health outcomes. The position requires a proactive approach to understanding community needs and implementing strategies that promote health equity and address racial and ethnic disparities in health.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director will lead operations to establish systematic community-based blood pressure screening and education initiatives, ensuring support for self-monitoring blood pressure. They will introduce food Security Screening in health centers and community organizations, Design and facilitate wellness training for community organizations, and engage with HRSA funded health centers to improve blood pressure management. The role involves facilitating community dialogues to assess needs, creating action plans to address health disparities, and aligning local initiatives with the broader advocacy agenda of the AHA. The Director will also recruit local leaders for an engagement council and ensure that community efforts are sustainable and impactful.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience working with community health issues and the ability to interact with diverse socio-economic groups. A minimum of 2 years in Public Health, education, Marketing, or community programs is required, along with experience in volunteer management. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects under time constraints. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment are also necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and candidates should be able to travel daily within the assigned coverage area.

Educational Background:
While a Bachelor's degree or some college experience is preferred, candidates with relevant experience in public health or related fields will also be considered. The focus should be on education that supports the role's responsibilities in health equity and Community Engagement.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in community health, public health, or related fields. Experience in managing community programs, recruiting and training volunteers, and engaging with diverse populations is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a history of successfully implementing health initiatives and working collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Languages:
While English is mandatory, knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus, especially for candidates working with multicultural communities. Proficiency in languages that reflect the demographics of the community served will enhance communication and outreach efforts.
