Job Overview:
The Camp Management Coordinator is responsible for implementing the elements of the Camp Management Project portfolio. This role involves overseeing field staff, adhering to NRC policies and strategies, and supporting the development of camp management strategies and project proposals. The coordinator will manage and implement the camp management project portfolio, ensuring high technical quality in accordance with donor requirements. Regular progress reports will be submitted to the Area Manager and the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Specialist. The coordinator will also promote ideas for improvement and ensure that projects target beneficiaries in greatest need of protection, exploring new ways to assist them. Capacity Building of project staff and collaboration with local authorities and stakeholders are also key responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Camp Management Coordinator will ensure timely planning, implementation, and monitoring of camp management activities/projects, including budgets and procurement in the assigned area. They will monitor and manage camp management services, ensuring compliance with minimum programming standards and 'do no harm' considerations. The coordinator will prepare and maintain work plans and expenditure plans in line with project documents and budgets, organize regular field visits to provide Technical Support to staff, and refine data collection, monitoring, and reporting tools. They will also prepare timely updates for supervisors on key developments affecting camp management activities, ensure compliance with local safety rules and SOPs, and play a leading role in managing and improving data Management Systems. Collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation team to establish a comprehensive data Analysis system is also required, along with any other tasks agreed upon with the Area Manager.
Required Qualifications:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing camp management projects in humanitarian/recovery contexts. Candidates should have documented results related to the responsibilities of the position, knowledge of their own leadership skills, and proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential, along with knowledge of camp management standards and data management. Strong interpersonal skills, team collaboration, and a positive, solution-oriented leadership approach are also necessary.
Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not detailed in the job description, a background in humanitarian studies, social sciences, or a related field is typically expected for such roles. Relevant certifications in camp management or humanitarian response may also be beneficial.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in camp management within humanitarian settings.
