Job Overview:
The role of Asistente Técnico ICLA is crucial for the implementation of the Information, Orientation, and Legal Assistance component according to NRC's programmatic strategy in Colombia. The position requires the individual to ensure adherence to NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines while supporting the implementation of the ICLA project portfolio in alignment with the action plan. The Asistente Técnico will be responsible for developing and maintaining knowledge of the ICLA competency in the area of work, ensuring effective assistance and support. The position demands initiative in problem-solving, preparation of required reports, and proper documentation management. The Asistente Técnico will also engage in activities that promote the participation of individuals and communities in emergency assistance and durable solutions, ensuring equitable and safe programming.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Técnico ICLA will have a wide range of responsibilities including: ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines; supporting the implementation of the ICLA project portfolio; developing knowledge of ICLA competencies; organizing and executing tasks according to priorities; resolving daily problems in accordance with established procedures; preparing reports for management; ensuring proper documentation; providing inputs for legal strategy Design; implementing information and legal assistance activities for internally displaced persons and vulnerable migrants; promoting Community Participation; conducting needs assessments; documenting and following up on cases; conducting legal assistance activities; facilitating training for public officials; maintaining databases; and reporting on activities. The role also involves frequent travel to areas with endemic diseases.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess technical studies or be in the final semesters of university studies or be recent graduates in Law, International Relations, Economics, or other Social Sciences. A minimum of one year of experience as a Technical Assistant in humanitarian contexts is required. Candidates should have knowledge and experience in the technical field relevant to the position, as well as experience in complex and changing environments. Proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position is essential. Knowledge of English is a plus.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes technical studies or being a university student in the final semesters or a recent graduate in Law, International Relations, Economics, or other social sciences. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the legal frameworks and social dynamics relevant to the role.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant work experience as a Technical Assistant in humanitarian contexts. Candidates should have experience in providing information, orientation, and legal assistance, as well as experience working with vulnerable populations in social or humanitarian projects. Experience in legal advocacy and knowledge of international and national protection laws is highly valued.
Languages:
While knowledge of English is beneficial, the primary language for this position is Spanish. Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory due to the nature of the work and the population served.

This position may require frequent travel to areas with health, safety, and Security risks. Employment with NRC may lead to deployment in regions or countries that present considerable risks.
