Job Overview: The Project Management Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's operational management of programs related to menstrual health and hygiene. This position involves day-to-day coordination and serves as the main operational focal point for the Child Rights and Communities (CRC) teams. The consultant will provide initial Training of Trainers (ToT), ongoing technical support, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities include coordinating implementation and communication with CRCs, supporting online training sessions and school visits, managing the dispatch and delivery of menstrual hygiene products to schools, liaising with donors, and monitoring progress and documentation throughout the assignment. This role is vital for ensuring effective program delivery and achieving desired outcomes in menstrual health and hygiene initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the day-to-day operational management of the menstrual health and hygiene program.
Serve as the main operational focal point for CRC teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Provide initial Training of Trainers (ToT) to enhance the capacity of stakeholders involved in the program.
Offer continuous technical support and troubleshooting to address challenges faced by CRC teams.
Coordinate the implementation of online training sessions and facilitate school visits to monitor program effectiveness.
Manage the logistics of dispatching and delivering menstrual hygiene products to schools, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
Liaise with donors to provide updates on program progress and address any inquiries.
Monitor program progress, track results, and document outcomes to ensure accountability and transparency.
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to enhance program impact. 1
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate program achievements and challenges to UNICEF management and stakeholders.
Strong skills in monitoring, reporting, and results tracking to ensure program effectiveness.
Knowledge of menstrual health and hygiene, child rights, adolescent health, gender, or school-based programming is an asset.
Excellent coordination, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Project Management, Public Health, Education, Social Sciences, Child Rights, Gender Studies, International Development, or related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of the programs and effectively managing the associated responsibilities.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project or program management. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder programs and coordinating with various implementing partners and teams. Experience in training and capacity building, particularly in the context of Training of Trainers (ToT) and providing technical assistance, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in monitoring, reporting, and tracking results to ensure the success of the programs they manage.
Languages: Fluency in Greek and English is mandatory for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages to engage with diverse stakeholders and ensure the successful implementation of programs. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
