Job Overview: The Senior Project Associate for Monitoring and Evaluation will play a crucial role in supporting the monitoring and evaluation of Shelter and Settlements activities in response to the recent devastating floods in Nepal. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation of the project’s monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework, which includes conducting periodic assessments and ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation processes. This position requires the development and maintenance of data collection tools and systems to track various interventions, including emergency shelter, household assistance, and recovery efforts. The role also involves conducting regular field monitoring, ensuring data quality assurance, and analyzing project results alongside beneficiary feedback. The Senior Project Associate will coordinate with project teams and relevant partners to ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements and prepare progress reports for project management and donors. This position is vital for ensuring that the affected communities receive the necessary support and that the project meets its objectives effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Project Associate include leading the implementation of the project M&E framework, conducting periodic assessments, and overseeing monitoring and evaluation processes. The candidate will develop and maintain data collection tools and systems to track emergency shelter, household assistance, site improvement, and recovery interventions. Regular field monitoring and data quality assurance across affected districts such as Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading will be essential. The role also involves establishing and monitoring a community-based complaints and feedback mechanism, preparing progress reports and results updates for project management and donors, and coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate communication and compliance with donor requirements. The candidate will finalize documentation of lessons learned and good practices from emergency shelter and settlement recovery interventions, assist in developing progress reporting presentations, and undertake any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in development studies, statistics, social sciences, disaster management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Additionally, a minimum of five years of professional experience in relevant fields is required. Experience in humanitarian or development communications, monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and analysis, particularly in humanitarian emergency response or recovery programming, is essential. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis tools is also necessary. Strong skills in data quality assurance, reporting, and results-based management are critical for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in development studies, statistics, social sciences, disaster management, or a related field from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received a recognized and quality education relevant to the position.

Languages: Fluency in English and Nepali, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Additional Notes: The position is subject to funding confirmation, and any offer made to the candidate will depend on this condition.
