Job Overview:
In this role, based in Mons, Belgium, you will be part of the NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), which is tasked with managing the lifecycle of cyber security services. Your primary focus will be on endpoint protection solutions, which include anti-malware, data loss prevention, and disk encryption. You will be responsible for the software lifecycle management of various enterprise endpoint protection tools, ensuring they are effectively tested, distributed, and maintained. Additionally, you will monitor the evolving IT security threat landscape, particularly malware trends, and provide remediation plans for security patches and firmware updates. This position requires a proactive approach to technical support, ensuring that end-user issues are resolved efficiently while contributing to NATO's Digital Endeavour.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Senior Technician, your duties will include providing NATO-wide support for endpoint protection solutions, managing the software lifecycle of enterprise tools, developing installation guidelines, and monitoring security threats. You will review and install firmware and security patches for Microsoft services and operating systems, create remediation plans for third-party firmware, and offer general technical support for platform and infrastructure services. Your role will also involve collaborating with various teams to ensure the security and integrity of NATO's communications and information systems, as well as documenting processes and reporting on security measures.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years of post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have practical experience in implementing and maintaining security infrastructure, managing endpoint protection solutions, and understanding malware protection technologies. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to engage with diverse audiences, including senior executives and technical teams. Familiarity with administration" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">system administration in Linux and Windows environments, as well as knowledge of security issues surrounding server operating systems, is also required.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a higher vocational training qualification in a relevant field or a secondary educational qualification with substantial experience in cyber security. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of cyber security, particularly in endpoint protection and IT infrastructure management.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of practical experience in cyber security, specifically in implementing and maintaining security infrastructure and managing endpoint protection solutions. Candidates should have experience with various security vendors and technologies, as well as a proven track record in software selection and vendor relationship management. Experience in the integration of cyber security measures and familiarity with the latest malware protection technologies are also critical.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively across different levels of the organization, including technical and non-technical audiences. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
