Job Overview:

Interns will work full-time, five days a week, under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge. The internship is unpaid and lasts for a minimum of three months, with the possibility of extension up to six months based on departmental needs and intern availability. Interns will be involved in various tasks that support the UN's mission to disseminate information and engage with the community, providing a unique opportunity to learn about the operations of the UN and its impact on local and global issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will assist with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: monitoring media for relevant news stories related to the UN; conducting research and drafting or updating content for public information outreach and advocacy; recording, editing, and subtitling videos; engaging in media outreach by distributing press releases and information materials to media outlets and civil society organizations; organizing events such as round tables, conferences, and Model UNs; providing general support for public information activities and meetings; and performing other related duties as required. This role is integral to the UN's efforts to communicate effectively with the public and enhance understanding of its work.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Additionally, applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications, demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and possess the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. No prior professional experience is required, as the internship is designed to provide training and practical experience.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be students in the final year of their first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), or enrolled in or have completed a Master’s or Ph.D. program. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided with the application. This educational background ensures that interns have the necessary theoretical knowledge to contribute effectively to the UN's work.

Experience:
