Job Overview: The Senior Programme Assistant for Data Management and Analytics will play a crucial role within the WFP's RAM (Research, Assessment and Monitoring) unit in Bogotá, Colombia. This position is designed to support the strategic management of beneficiary information throughout the program cycle, from registration and validation to programming, distribution, and reconciliation of assistance. The selected candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of analysts and data specialists, under the supervision of the Data Management and Analytics Officer. The role involves not only data management and analytics but also the development of strategies, policies, and procedures for effective data handling, analysis, and decision-making support. The position is vital for generating evidence that enhances the quality and effectiveness of WFP's programs in Colombia, contributing to the organization's overarching goals of achieving Zero Hunger and supporting sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate processes, roles, and information systems to ensure the complete data lifecycle (capture, storage, use, and deletion) in accordance with corporate guidelines and IDM SOPs.
Design, document, and optimize processes for capturing, cleaning, and reconciling large volumes of data, prioritizing efficiency, scalability, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and traceability.
Propose strategies and technical solutions for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis using statistical tools, algorithms, and machine learning techniques.
Lead the management of beneficiary data in corporate systems (SCOPE, COMET, LESS), including deduplication, payment list creation, reconciliation, and traceability.
Design and implement ETL pipelines (Python, SQL, R, Tableau Prep) for integrating multiple data sources and generating reports.
Create visualizations and interactive dashboards in Tableau and other tools to facilitate operational and strategic decision-making.
Detect and reduce anomalies in data through scripts and automated controls, monitoring quality indicators.
Coordinate with field offices and other units to ensure the availability and consistency of information, providing technical advice and training on corporate systems.
Apply data management policies and standards to ensure integrity, consistency, and protection of sensitive information. 1
Propose continuous improvements in processing flows and modern data engineering and science practices. 1
Update knowledge through e-learning platforms and share best practices with the team. 1
Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor related to the position.
Required Qualifications: Education: Completion of secondary education is required. A degree in systems engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related fields is desirable, along with specific courses in analytics and data management. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data management, and analysis, including process design and development of analytical solutions. Specialized knowledge in technologies for data processing and analysis, including Python, R, SQL, Access, and Excel, as well as visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI, is highly valued. Previous experience in humanitarian contexts is also desirable.
Educational Background: The position requires at least the completion of secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a professional degree in relevant fields such as systems engineering, industrial engineering, mathematics, or statistics. Additional specific training in analytics and data management is considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data management, and analysis. This includes experience in designing processes and developing analytical solutions, with a strong emphasis on practical application in real-world scenarios. Familiarity with data processing technologies and tools is essential, and experience in humanitarian settings is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in both oral and written Spanish is mandatory, while knowledge of English is desirable. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is offered under a Service Contract (SC) for a duration of six (6) months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and resource availability. The level of the position is SC
