Job Overview:
The Partnership Officer (CSOs) plays a crucial role in providing technical and administrative support for the effective management of implementing partnerships within the country office. This position involves ensuring quality assurance of Programme Documents (PDs), Programme Cooperation Agreements (PCAs), and Small-Scale Funding Agreements (SSFAs). The officer will also be responsible for analysis, monitoring, and reporting, which includes maintaining the E-tools database and other tools related to Civil Society Organization (CSO) engagement and partnerships. The role emphasizes innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building for both staff and partners, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively to achieve results for children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the management of implementing partnerships by providing technical and administrative assistance.
  • Ensure quality assurance of Programme Documents (PDs), Programme Cooperation Agreements (PCAs), and Small-Scale Funding Agreements (SSFAs).
  • Conduct analysis, monitoring, and reporting on partnership activities, maintaining the E-tools database and other relevant tools.
  • Facilitate innovation and knowledge management initiatives to enhance the capacity of staff and partners.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of programs and adherence to UNICEF's standards and guidelines.
  • Participate in the Partnership Review Committee (PRC) to establish and review partnerships.
  • Provide support in the development of training materials and capacity-building programs for partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships and provide recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in fields such as Development Studies, International Development, Business Administration, Financial Management, Economics, Auditing, or Project/Programme Management. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate skills in Partnership Management, Programme Management, Programme Development, Financial Management, and Financial Planning.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields is required. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in development practices, financial management, and partnership dynamics, which are essential for the role of Partnership Officer.

Experience:
A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience is required, specifically in Programme Development/Management, Financial Planning/Management, or Partnership Management. Experience in quality assurance processes and working with CSOs is also beneficial. Candidates with experience in developing countries or within a UN system agency will have an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Portuguese is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

This position is based in Maputo, Mozambique, and does not offer a relocation package. Candidates are responsible for their own relocation and settlement.
