Job Overview:
The Storekeeper position at WFP involves managing the receipt, dispatch, and verification of commodities to ensure the highest quality of warehouse operations while minimizing losses. The incumbent will work under minimal supervision and will be responsible for supervising warehouse staff, providing on-the-job training, and ensuring compliance with WFP warehouse standards and guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the receipt and dispatch of food and non-food commodities, ensuring accurate physical counts and quality verification against official documentation.
  • Prepare, verify, and sign off on warehouse and transport documents, maintaining organized records of all transactions.
  • Conduct daily inventory reconciliations and support periodic stock counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Perform routine inspections of commodities to assess quantity and quality, preparing detailed loss reports when discrepancies arise.
  • Implement preventive measures to protect commodities from spoilage, contamination, theft, or damage, ensuring compliance with WFP procedures.
  • Monitor the physical condition of the warehouse, ensuring cleanliness and optimal space utilization.
  • Provide guidance and training to warehouse staff, promoting adherence to operational standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the activity manager.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of secondary school education is required, with a post-secondary certificate or bachelor's degree in a related functional area being desirable. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics management is essential, along with proficiency in using logistics databases for reporting purposes.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education, with a preference for those who have obtained a post-secondary certificate or a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. It is important that all educational documents are verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Pakistan, as this is a requirement for appointment.

Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field is required. Candidates should have experience in managing warehouses that handle food and non-food items, as well as experience in inventory management and processing invoices. Familiarity with logistics databases for extracting routine reports is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
