Job Overview:
The position of PAZ - Consultor Guionista involves working as an individual contractor within the UNDP Colombia office. The consultant will be responsible for scriptwriting and development for documentary projects, which may include feature-length films, series, or equivalent projects. The assignment is set for a duration of two months, during which the consultant will collaborate closely with UNDP teams and stakeholders to meet project deadlines and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop and write scripts for documentary projects, ensuring that they are well-structured and compelling.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand the objectives and themes of the documentaries.
  • Conduct research to gather relevant information and insights that will enhance the narrative of the scripts.
  • Revise and edit scripts based on feedback from UNDP teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to align the script development process with project goals.
  • Ensure that all scripts adhere to the standards and guidelines set by UNDP.
  • Submit drafts and final versions of scripts within the agreed timelines.
  • Maintain clear communication with the UNDP project team throughout the assignment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
  • A professional degree in Film and Television, Social Communication, Audiovisual Arts, Literature, or Humanities.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in writing and developing documentary scripts, specifically for feature-length films, series, or equivalent projects.
  • Proven participation as a screenwriter in at least three (3) non-fiction audiovisual projects with a narrative focus.
  • Strong understanding of storytelling techniques and the ability to craft engaging narratives.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Spanish, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a professional degree in one of the following fields: Film and Television, Social Communication, Audiovisual Arts, Literature, or Humanities. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of scriptwriting and the nuances of storytelling in documentary formats.

Experience:
The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically a minimum of five (5) years in the field of scriptwriting and development for documentary projects. This experience should be directly related to the creation of narrative-driven content and must be post-graduation, with no overlapping periods of experience accepted. Candidates should have a proven track record of working on multiple projects that demonstrate their ability to produce high-quality scripts.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is Spanish, as all scripts and communications will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this role.
