Job Overview:
The position involves providing technical support for the implementation of value chain methodologies. The consultant will be expected to work closely with local stakeholders to enhance productive inclusion for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MiPyMEs) or productive units. This role requires a deep understanding of development projects and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing existing value chains, identifying gaps, and proposing actionable strategies to improve productivity and inclusivity. The assignment is set for a duration of 210 days, during which the consultant will engage in various activities aimed at strengthening the capacities of local enterprises and ensuring sustainable development practices are adopted.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of existing value chains in the targeted sectors to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector actors, and community organizations, to facilitate the implementation of value chain methodologies.
  • Develop tailored strategies and action plans to enhance the productivity and inclusivity of MiPyMEs.
  • Provide training and capacity-building sessions for local entrepreneurs and stakeholders on best practices in value chain management.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of implemented strategies, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings, methodologies applied, and outcomes achieved throughout the consultancy period.
  • Ensure that all activities align with UNDP’s mission and objectives, promoting sustainable development and inclusive growth.

Required Qualifications:
  • A professional degree in political science, economics, administrative sciences, or social sciences.
  • At least two (2) years of specific experience in supporting the implementation of development projects with a focus on productive inclusion of MiPyMEs or productive units.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and facilitate participatory processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Spanish.
  • Familiarity with UNDP’s operational procedures and guidelines is an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a professional degree in fields such as political science, economics, administrative sciences, or social sciences. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of development projects and the socio-economic factors influencing productive inclusion.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the field of development, specifically in projects that focus on the productive inclusion of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MiPyMEs). Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully implementing development initiatives and working with local communities to foster economic growth.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is Spanish, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in this language. Proficiency in English or other languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
