Job Overview: The position involves providing consultancy services aimed at strengthening the technical capabilities of family commissioners in Colombia, specifically focusing on disability inclusion and diversity in the protection of victims of domestic violence. The consultant will develop a module that addresses these critical issues, ensuring that family commissioners are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support victims. This role is crucial in promoting inclusivity and ensuring that the needs of individuals with disabilities are adequately addressed within the family protection system. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to implement best practices and enhance the overall effectiveness of the family commissioners' operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the current practices and challenges faced by family commissioners in addressing disability inclusion.
Develop a tailored training module that focuses on disability awareness, inclusion strategies, and best practices for supporting victims of domestic violence.
Facilitate training sessions for family commissioners to enhance their understanding and skills in dealing with cases involving individuals with disabilities.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to promote a coordinated approach to victim support.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the training module and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Prepare detailed reports on the progress and outcomes of the consultancy, including recommendations for future actions.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
A professional degree in law, social work, psychology, or a related field.
A valid professional license to practice in Colombia.
Proven experience in working with vulnerable populations, particularly individuals with disabilities.
Strong understanding of the legal and social frameworks surrounding domestic violence and disability rights in Colombia.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and facilitate workshops.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a professional degree in law, social work, psychology, or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree or specialized training in disability rights, social inclusion, or related fields will be considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have a valid professional license to practice in Colombia, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in consultancy roles, particularly in areas related to social inclusion, disability rights, or domestic violence prevention. Experience working with governmental or non-governmental organizations in Colombia is highly desirable. Familiarity with the UNDP's operational procedures and frameworks will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as all training and materials will be developed and delivered in this language. Proficiency in English is considered a plus, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and access to additional resources.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to last for a period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs. This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the consultant will be expected to work full-time during the assignment. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's guidelines for individual contractors. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and applications from individuals with disabilities are encouraged.
