The contractor will be responsible for enhancing the existing framework and reporting on progress towards the goals set in the plan. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the cacao and chocolate industry, including its challenges and opportunities, and the ability to develop strategies that align with national and international standards. The contractor will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, local producers, and international partners, to ensure the successful implementation of the plan. The position is expected to last for a period of three months, during which the contractor will need to deliver actionable insights and recommendations based on thorough analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough assessment of the current operational model of the National Plan for the Development of the Cacao and Chocolate Value Chain.
Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in the existing framework.
Develop a comprehensive strategy for enhancing the operational model, including specific recommendations for implementation.
Engage with stakeholders to gather input and feedback on proposed changes to the operational model.
Prepare detailed reports on progress and outcomes of the improvement initiatives.
Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to discuss findings and gather further insights.
Ensure that all recommendations align with national policies and international best practices in the cacao and chocolate industry.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the proposed strategies and report on their effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in the agricultural or food production sectors.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex systems and develop actionable strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with the cacao and chocolate value chain and its associated challenges.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences, economics, business administration, or a related field is required. A master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project management, particularly in the agricultural sector or related fields. Experience working with international organizations or government agencies is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, especially for engaging with international partners and accessing global resources.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this position is three months (90 days). This is a full-time position, and the contractor will be expected to work closely with the UNDP team in Peru. The role may involve some travel within the country to meet with stakeholders and conduct assessments. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and in line with UNDP's policies.
