Job Overview: The intern will work under the guidance of the Innovation and Communications Officer within the Communications, Innovation, and Partnerships team at UNDP China. This position involves producing various video and design products, including short videos for social media and project wrap-up videos. The intern will also support video shooting and photographing for offline events, manage UNDP China's video/photo library, and assist with communications tasks in both English and Chinese. The role requires creativity and the ability to draft content for social media platforms, manage live-streaming events, and prepare communications reports and summaries. The intern will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to UNDP's mission and values while contributing to the organization's communication efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Video Editing: Produce various types of video/design products, including short videos for social media and project wrap-up videos. Support video shooting and photographing for offline events. Organize and maintain UNDP China's video/photo library.
Communications: Assist with all communications work by providing creative solutions through video/design products. Manage live-streaming for events and collect relevant data. Draft content and layout for social media articles and posts on platforms such as Weibo and WeChat. Prepare media summaries, communications reports, and related documents.
Ad Hoc Tasks: Undertake other tasks as requested by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team in various capacities.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program, have recently graduated with a university degree, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program. A major in video editing, film, communications, journalism, or related fields is preferred. Additional skills in graphic design, photo editing, and online/offline communications will be considered an asset. Candidates should have relevant and independent work experience in video editing, shooting, design, media events, or social media campaigns.
Educational Background: Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a relevant degree program, such as a master's or bachelor's degree in video editing, film, communications, journalism, or other related fields. Having overseas study experience is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's qualifications for the internship.
Experience: The position requires relevant and independent work experience in video editing, video shooting, design, media events, or social media campaigns. This experience can be gained through internships, academic projects, or previous employment in related fields. The intern should demonstrate a good sense of modern video/design style and the ability to create simple motion graphics and effects for video products.
Languages: The intern must possess good oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese. This bilingual proficiency is essential for understanding and meeting video requirements and for effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The internship conditions specify that unless the intern is financially supported by an institution or program, UNDP will provide a stipend according to its internship policy. Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel to and from the internship location. They must secure adequate medical insurance for the duration of the internship and provide self-certification of good health. UNDP does not reimburse medical insurance costs, and any expenses arising from accidents or illness during the internship are the intern's responsibility.
