Job Overview: The position of Expert·e senior / Coach national·e en andragogie et formation des formateurs (TO) involves providing expert guidance and coaching in the field of andragogy and trainer training. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing training programs that enhance the skills and competencies of trainers in Tunisia. This role requires a deep understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to design and implement effective training methodologies. The expert will work closely with local institutions and stakeholders to ensure that the training programs are relevant and impactful, contributing to the overall capacity building of the education and training sectors in the country. The mission is expected to take place over a period of 15 working days between June and August 2026, during which the expert will engage in various activities including workshops, training sessions, and consultations with key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Expert·e senior / Coach national·e en andragogie et formation des formateurs (TO) include but are not limited to:
Conducting a needs assessment to identify the training requirements of trainers in the region.
Designing and developing comprehensive training programs based on adult learning principles.
Facilitating workshops and training sessions for trainers, focusing on effective teaching methodologies and assessment techniques.
Collaborating with local educational institutions to ensure the training programs align with national standards and needs.
Providing ongoing support and coaching to trainers to enhance their teaching practices.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs and making necessary adjustments based on feedback and outcomes.
Preparing detailed reports on the training activities and outcomes for UNDP and stakeholders.
Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to promote the importance of quality training and education.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in andragogy, adult education, or a related field. A proven track record of designing and implementing training programs for adult learners is essential. Additionally, candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Experience in capacity building and working with educational institutions is highly desirable. Familiarity with the local context and educational landscape in Tunisia will be an advantage. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable education practices.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in Education, Adult Learning, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in training and development, coaching, or instructional design will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a strong theoretical understanding of adult learning theories and practices, as well as practical experience in applying these concepts in real-world settings.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of professional experience in the field of adult education or training. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of capacity building and educational reform, is highly valued. Candidates should also have experience in conducting training needs assessments and developing tailored training programs for diverse audiences.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as the training programs will be conducted in French. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international stakeholders and for accessing relevant resources. Knowledge of Arabic would be an added advantage, particularly in engaging with local communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 15 working days spread over the specified period. The role is expected to be full-time during the engagement period.
