Job Overview: The National Consultant on Equanomics Policy Dialogue position is designed for an individual contractor who will engage in a home-based assignment with no travel requirements. The consultant will be responsible for facilitating policy dialogue on equanomics, which involves addressing economic inequalities and promoting equitable economic policies. The role requires a deep understanding of economic policies, social justice, and the ability to engage with various stakeholders to foster discussions that lead to actionable insights and recommendations. The consultant will work closely with UNDP and other partners to ensure that the dialogue is inclusive and reflective of diverse perspectives, ultimately aiming to influence policy decisions that promote equity in economic development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant on Equanomics Policy Dialogue include but are not limited to:
Conducting comprehensive research on current economic policies and their impact on inequality.
Facilitating discussions and workshops with stakeholders, including government officials, civil society, and private sector representatives, to gather insights and perspectives on equanomics.
Analyzing data and feedback from consultations to identify key themes and recommendations for policy improvements.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings and proposed actions for policymakers.
Collaborating with UNDP teams to align the dialogue outcomes with broader development goals and strategies.
Engaging in continuous communication with stakeholders to ensure ongoing dialogue and feedback throughout the assignment.
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the policy dialogue on economic policies and practices.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a set of qualifications that include:
A strong background in economics, public policy, or a related field, with a focus on issues of equity and social justice.
Proven experience in conducting policy analysis and facilitating stakeholder engagement processes.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from various sources and draw actionable conclusions.
Familiarity with the UNDP's mission and objectives, particularly in relation to economic development and inequality.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a Master's degree in economics, public policy, social sciences, or a related field. A PhD is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant certifications or training in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, or related areas will be considered an asset.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in economic policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development and policy dialogue, is highly desirable. Previous experience in conducting workshops or consultations with diverse stakeholders is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the dialogue process.
