Job Overview: The Project Associate position at UNDP involves supporting the Action for Climate and Environment (ACE) Unit in various capacities. The role is crucial for the implementation of projects aimed at enhancing disaster resilience and climate adaptation in selected cities, particularly Ghaziabad and Greater Visakhapatnam. The Project Associate will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Specialist (Resilience) and will be responsible for day-to-day program development and implementation. This includes assisting in the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluating bids, and providing technical inputs for various activities related to disaster resilience. The position also emphasizes knowledge management, social inclusion, and research support, making it essential for the Project Associate to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the overall mission of UNDP in India.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Associate will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including:
Supporting day-to-day program development and implementation by assisting in the creation of RFPs and RFQs, evaluating project bids, and providing technical inputs for safety audits and training.
Contributing to knowledge management by drafting reports, policy briefs, and case studies, and developing visually engaging knowledge products.
Facilitating socially inclusive programming by integrating social inclusion considerations into project design and developing inclusion-sensitive indicators.
Conducting research and analytical support on disaster risk reduction and resilience themes, including literature reviews and data synthesis.
Supporting coordination and field-based monitoring activities by planning field visits, contributing to field visit reports, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.
Assisting in data collection and validation processes, organizing team meetings, and facilitating information flow between field teams and UNDP members.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Project Associate position should possess a strong set of qualifications, including:
A demonstrated understanding of disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and resilience-building strategies.

Additional Notes: This position is based in New Delhi, the capital city of India, and offers a monthly voluntary living allowance of INR 56,126.6

The contract duration is typically for a specified period, and the role is full-time.
