Job Overview:
The MIS Associate position at UNDP involves managing and overseeing the Management Information Systems (MIS) within the organization. The role is crucial for ensuring that data is accurately collected, processed, and analyzed to support decision-making processes. The MIS Associate will be responsible for developing and maintaining databases, generating reports, and providing insights based on data analysis. This position requires a strong understanding of information systems and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to enhance the efficiency of operations. The MIS Associate will also be involved in training staff on the use of MIS tools and ensuring compliance with data management policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the Management Information System (MIS) to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify data needs and provide technical support for data management.
• Generate regular reports and dashboards to present data insights to management and stakeholders.
• Conduct training sessions for staff on the use of MIS tools and best practices in data management.
• Ensure compliance with UNDP data management policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the MIS.
• Stay updated on new technologies and methodologies in data management and recommend improvements to existing systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Proficiency in database management and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred and may substitute for some experience requirements.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing information systems or data management is required. Experience working in an international organization or development sector is an advantage. Proven experience in database management and data analysis is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly local languages spoken in India, is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is for a contract duration of 12 months. The role is classified as an individual contractor position, which may involve working full-time or part-time depending on project needs.
