The assignment is expected to take place over a period from June to August 2026, with a maximum of 18 expert days allocated for the training delivery. The consultant will work closely with UNDP staff and local partners to tailor the training content to meet the specific needs of the participants, ensuring that the training is relevant, practical, and impactful. The consultant will also be expected to provide feedback and recommendations for future training initiatives based on the outcomes of the sessions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have several key responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Designing and developing a comprehensive training curriculum on advocacy tailored to the needs of local authorities and civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Conducting training sessions, workshops, and seminars that engage participants and facilitate learning through interactive methods.
Assessing the training needs of participants and adapting the training materials accordingly to ensure maximum relevance and effectiveness.
Providing ongoing support and guidance to participants during and after the training sessions to reinforce learning and application of advocacy strategies.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the training sessions through participant feedback and assessments, and making necessary adjustments for future training.
Collaborating with UNDP staff and local partners to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
Preparing and submitting a final report summarizing the training activities, participant feedback, and recommendations for future training initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in advocacy, training, and capacity building, with proven experience in delivering training programs to diverse audiences. A deep understanding of the political and social context in Bosnia and Herzegovina is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage participants effectively. Familiarity with adult learning principles and methodologies is highly desirable, as is experience working with local authorities and civil society organizations.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, public policy, international relations, or a related discipline is required. Additional certifications or training in advocacy, training delivery, or capacity building will be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 years of professional experience in advocacy, training delivery, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly preferred. Proven track record of successfully delivering training programs and workshops is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages, particularly Bosnian, Croatian, or Serbian, is considered an asset and will enhance communication with participants.
