Job Overview: The position of MIS Management Lead Engineer is crucial for the effective management and implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) within UNDP's operations in India. The role involves overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of MIS solutions that support decision-making processes and enhance operational efficiency. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the MIS aligns with UNDP's strategic objectives and meets the needs of various stakeholders. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, and ensuring compliance with UNDP's policies and standards. The position requires a strong understanding of information systems, data management, and technology trends, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the MIS Management Lead Engineer include but are not limited to:
Leading the design and implementation of MIS solutions that meet organizational needs.
Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Managing the development and deployment of MIS applications, ensuring they are user-friendly and efficient.
Conducting regular assessments of existing MIS systems and recommending improvements.
Providing technical support and training to users to enhance their understanding and utilization of MIS tools.

Monitoring project progress and reporting on milestones to senior management.
Staying updated on industry trends and best practices in MIS and technology.
Proven experience in managing and implementing MIS projects.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Familiarity with UNDP's policies and procedures is an advantage.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline is preferred and may be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing information systems or technology projects. Experience working in international development or with UN agencies is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly local languages spoken in India, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as a 12-month contract under the Individual Contractor (IC) modality. The role is full-time and requires the contractor to work closely with UNDP's teams in India.
