Job Overview: The position of IC National Associate Circular Economy Financing Specialist with Group B LGUs is designed to support local government units (LGUs) in the Philippines in implementing circular economy financing strategies. This role involves assessing current financing models, identifying gaps, and proposing innovative solutions to enhance the financial sustainability of LGUs. The specialist will also be responsible for capacity building and providing technical assistance to LGUs to facilitate the transition towards a circular economy. The assignment period is from June 15 to October 30, 2026, and the specialist will be expected to submit proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the IC National Associate Circular Economy Financing Specialist include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of existing financing mechanisms used by Group B LGUs and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Developing and proposing innovative financing solutions that support the implementation of circular economy initiatives.
Collaborating with local stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and private sector partners, to promote circular economy practices.
Providing technical assistance and capacity building to LGUs to enhance their understanding and implementation of circular economy financing strategies.
Preparing detailed reports and presentations on findings, recommendations, and progress made in the implementation of circular economy financing initiatives.
Engaging in knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices related to circular economy financing at local, national, and international levels.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include a strong background in finance, economics, or a related field. Candidates should possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to assess complex financial systems. Experience in working with local government units or in the field of sustainable development is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Educational Background: Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, environmental science, or a related field.
