Job Overview: The Project Officer- Cash and Asset Transfer (CAT) will play a crucial role in the THRIVE project team, focusing on the effective implementation and management of Cash and Asset Transfer (CAT) and ICT4D-related activities. This position requires a thorough and service-oriented approach to ensure that best practices are consistently applied, and the impact of the project benefits those served. The officer will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining CAT/Red Rose devices, applications, networks, and databases. Additionally, the role involves providing field-level and remote technical support to staff, vendors, partners, and end-users, managing user access, and liaising with CAT platform service providers. The Project Officer will also support the implementation of CAT strategies, conduct user training, manage inventory, and prepare reports and budgets related to CAT operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Officer- Cash and Asset Transfer (CAT) include deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Rose devices, as well as monitoring databases, networks, servers, and telecommunications. The officer will provide field-level technical support to vendors and staff on the CAT platform and devices, troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance, and manage user access to the CAT system. Responsibilities also include maintaining an inventory of ICT4D equipment, coordinating relationships with suppliers, preparing statistical reports on ICT4D-related data, and implementing measures to meet required standards. The officer will directly provide user training, create training materials, and maintain documentation of processes and troubleshooting guides. Additionally, the officer will assess user capacity and suggest training improvements as needed.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field such as Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, or Information Systems. Significant work experience in a directly related field, combined with appropriate training or certifications, may be considered in lieu of a degree. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, with at least 3 years in a similar role. Desired certifications include Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft SharePoint Foundations, and ITIL Foundation. Candidates should possess strong client-service focus, problem analysis and resolution skills, and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, such as Computer Science, Computer Networking, Programming, or Information Systems. Equivalent work experience combined with appropriate training or certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in technical skills relevant to the position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years in a role with similar responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate experience in community engagement, particularly in Northeast Nigeria, and have a proven track record of building ICT4D capacity with professional staff. Expert-level knowledge of agency-supported ICT4D solutions and familiarity with ICT4D trends, applications, and technologies are preferred.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if relevant to the communities served by CRS in Nigeria.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Maiduguri, Nigeria, and may require travel of up to 20%. There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this role.
