Job Overview:
The role of the Asistente Técnico de Protección is crucial in supporting the direct and daily implementation of protection project activities in the assigned operational area. This position is responsible for executing operational protection actions, which include initial assistance and referral of individuals at risk, implementing community-based protection activities, conducting protection monitoring activities, and disseminating information regarding access to rights, care pathways, and available services. All functions are carried out under the guidance of the Protection Officer and the Technical Protection Officer, ensuring alignment with humanitarian principles, NRC's Protection Policy, and institutional standards. The Asistente Técnico de Protección will play a vital role in ensuring timely and appropriate execution of protection activities, adapting to the dynamics and particularities of the intervention context.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Técnico de Protección will be responsible for ensuring compliance with NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and institutional guidelines in the execution of their duties. They will directly support the implementation of the protection project portfolio according to the established action plan and supervisory guidance. Specific duties include executing procedures and activities as delegated by the supervisor, organizing and executing assigned tasks based on priorities, schedules, and institutional standards, and maintaining practical knowledge in the protection area to effectively support field activities. The role also involves problem-solving operational issues, preparing and delivering basic inputs for progress reports, ensuring proper filing and organized management of documentation related to their role and project activities, and promoting observations or proposals for improvement to enhance the implementation of their activities. The Asistente Técnico de Protección will also assist in implementing Safe and Inclusive Programming (PSI) activities included in the country office action plan relevant to their unit or team, and participate in relevant training modules organized at the country, regional, or global levels.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a professional background in law, social work, social sciences, human sciences, political sciences, or related fields. They should have prior experience working in humanitarian contexts, emergencies, or human mobility, and be familiar with complex operational environments with direct interaction with affected populations. A basic understanding of humanitarian principles and protection, as well as knowledge of age, gender, and diversity (EGD) approaches, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to apply procedures, technical guidelines, and operational orientations defined by supervision, and have basic knowledge of the English language. Proficiency in computer tools, particularly MS Office and Office 365, is also required.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is essential for this position, with candidates expected to hold a degree in law, social work, social sciences, human sciences, political sciences, or other related fields. This educational foundation will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively engage in protection activities and support the implementation of NRC's projects.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience working in humanitarian contexts, particularly in emergency situations or with populations affected by displacement. Experience in complex operational environments and direct interaction with affected communities is highly valued. The role requires a demonstrated ability to navigate challenging situations and provide effective support to vulnerable populations.

Languages:
While knowledge of the Spanish language is mandatory for this position, basic knowledge of English is also required. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse populations and stakeholders.
