Job Overview:
The position of Conductor at NRC involves the transportation of staff, visitors, documents, and materials to designated locations as approved by the organization. The primary goal is to facilitate the mission-related processes of NRC by ensuring safe and efficient travel. The Conductor is expected to adhere to NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines while maintaining the vehicle in proper working condition. This role requires a proactive approach to safety and compliance with local regulations, as well as effective communication and reporting skills to manage logistics and operational needs during missions. The Conductor will also be responsible for maintaining vehicle documentation and supporting logistical activities during training and workshops.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Conductor's duties include ensuring compliance with NRC's policies and guidelines, transporting personnel and materials to approved destinations, and maintaining the safety of passengers and goods. Responsibilities also encompass reporting accidents or vehicle issues immediately, adhering to local authority regulations, and keeping a detailed log of all trips. The Conductor must ensure the vehicle is in good working order, including regular checks on technical status, cleanliness, and fuel levels. Additionally, the role involves organizing repairs and maintenance, managing vehicle documentation, and supporting logistical operations during trainings and workshops. The Conductor is expected to prepare reports as required by management and to act according to NRC's logistics and safety directives in case of incidents. Other specific tasks include managing vehicle inventory, assisting with document deliveries, and performing errands as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid professional driving license in accordance with local regulations. A minimum of three years of experience as a driver in humanitarian contexts is required, along with a proven track record of working in complex and changing environments. Experience in driving boats and knowledge of maritime and river routes in Buenaventura and the San Juan coast is preferred. Candidates should also have basic mechanical knowledge and experience with vehicle maintenance, as well as familiarity with first aid. Proficiency in MS Office applications is necessary, and knowledge of English is desirable but not mandatory.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have completed secondary education (Bachiller) and possess technical or professional studies in fields such as Business Administration, Logistics Management, or International Business. Additional technical or technological studies in mechanics and automotive maintenance are preferred, although any level of education will be positively valued.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of relevant driving experience, particularly in humanitarian settings. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability and the ability to navigate complex situations effectively. Experience with vehicle maintenance and knowledge of local geographical contexts, particularly in Valle del Cauca and Chocó, will be advantageous.

Languages:
While knowledge of English is desirable, it is not a strict requirement for this position. Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and the local context.

Additional Notes:
This position may require frequent travel to areas affected by endemic diseases. The role is full-time, and candidates should be prepared for the responsibilities associated with driving in challenging environments. NRC emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy towards exploitation, abuse, and harassment, and expects all employees to contribute to a safe and respectful workplace.
