Job Description

Location: Vienna or Innsbruck / Austria; 38,5 hours/week – limited contract for 6 months
SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental Social Development organisation, we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and Emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 136 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. To support us with this important responsibility we are now looking for a committed Intern who would be able to work with us for a minimum of 6 months to support the Digital Platform YouthLinks.

YouthCan! is a global initiative that supports young people, who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it, on their journey to decent work and independent life. By mobilising employees, activating their networks and providing expertise, corporates are making a measurable impact in the lives of young people around the globe whilst efficiently working to reduce Youth Employment. By using our online platform, YouthLinks, we aim to break down geographical barriers and adapt to a Social Distancing Environment to ensure access to training, mentoring and peer networks to young people no matter their location or circumstances.

YouthLinks Intern (f/m)

38,5 hours/week – limited contract for 6 months Location: Innsbruck or Vienna / Austria
Main Responsibilities
The YouthLinks intern supports in the implementation and promotion of the online tool, YouthLinks, integrated in the employability Strategic Project YouthCan! Further, the intern will support in the Administration of the Digital Villages project.

Specifically, he/she supports key components of YouthLinks and Digital Villages regarding the assessment and communication, but also the further development of related tools and projects.

  • Support the improvement and scaling of YouthLinks (70% of the time)
    • Support the implementation of YouthLinks in the different countries by building capacities on the use of the platform.
    • Support on the preparation of the annual YouthLinks Monitoring and Evaluation report and related communication materials
    • Support the implementation of the YouthLinks tracking tool, including the development of further tracking materials in support of implementing MA’s
    • Support the development of digital content to improve automation of mentoring- and related support processes
    • Support the development of articles and comms materials to support project communication and Marketing.
    • Support in the organization of a YouthLinks webinar series, connecting young people from around the globe with interesting speakers from the SOS Children’s Villages (partners) world.
  • Support for the Digital Village project (30% of the time)
    • Support on the preparation of the Digital Villages Monitoring and Evaluation report and communication materials
    • Support the establishment of an interactive map representation to display status of the project in different locations (can be through Power Point)
The Profile
  • Finished BA studies in non-profit management, international development, social business, technology or related areas
  • Experience or connection to ICT4D and digital projects is an asset
  • Experience in developing support documents, reports, communication materials, guidelines, etc.
  • Good organizational skills (following deadlines, team work, etc.);
  • Experience with administrative experience
  • Excellent command of MS Office
  • Pro-active and independent style of working

  • SOS Children´s Villages International believes that interns undertake a valuable role in our organisation, we offer a fixed gross salary of € 1.150 per month on a full-time basis, which would increase if extended beyond 6 months.
