Job Overview:
The Young Associate position within the Environment and Economy Integration (EEI) Division of the OECD is designed for a recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate who is eager to engage in policy analysis and research. The selected candidate will work closely with the Head of the EEI Division, contributing to a variety of projects that intersect environmental and economic policies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, as the Young Associate will be tasked with conducting background research, drafting speeches and presentations, and supporting the Division's outreach efforts. The position is ideal for someone with a background in Environmental Economics or related fields, who possesses good drafting skills and a quantitative background, which will be beneficial given the technical nature of the Division's work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Young Associate will be responsible for conducting policy analysis and background research on themes relevant to the EEI Division's work. This includes drafting speeches and presentations for the Head of Division, undertaking time-sensitive special projects, and contributing to initiatives aimed at disseminating the Division's outputs. The role also involves maintaining links with Member Country Delegations and staff in other Directorates, as well as following the work of relevant OECD committees. The Young Associate will play a crucial role in supporting high-priority areas of the Division and ensuring effective communication of its work.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in economics, environmental science and policy, public policy, or engineering, with a graduation date between January 1, 2024, and September 1, 202
  • Candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Master's, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered. Coursework in economics and quantitative analysis is required, along with excellent written and Oral Communication skills. Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to work are essential, as is the ability to report on progress with precision. A strong quantitative skill set is considered an asset for this position.
