Job Overview:
The Young Associate will be part of the Strategic Communications and Outreach Division within the Directorate for Communications at the OECD. This role involves researching, writing, editing, and delivering substantive corporate communications products and projects. The Young Associate will contribute to the strategic planning and execution of the Organisation's priority communications, working closely with Strategic Communications Leads and reporting to the Head of Division for professional development. The position aims to maximize the reach and impact of the OECD's work through clear and evidence-based communications, ensuring that complex messages are conveyed effectively to various audiences, including policymakers and the public.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Young Associate will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
  • Contributing to the ideation, proposal, and delivery of priority communications products and projects.
  • Writing accurate, substantive, and compelling materials that convey complex OECD messages to a range of relevant audiences.
  • Editing communications materials drafted by OECD policy directorates to ensure accessibility of research, analysis, and recommendations to public audiences.
  • Collaborating with the Digital Communications and Web Products Division to enhance the communication of OECD work through innovative Data Visualization and digital products.
  • Working with the Media, Social Media, and External Engagement Units to harmonize messaging and language across corporate communications materials.
  • Providing end-to-end Coordination across the Directorate and the Organisation to deliver communications products and projects effectively.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in public policy, International Relations, communications, or a related discipline, with a graduation date between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
  • Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills, particularly in English, alongside very good research and analytical abilities. Proficiency with digital communications tools is also desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates are expected to have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as public policy, international relations, or communications. The graduation date should fall between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 2025, ensuring that the candidate is in the appropriate academic timeline for the Young Associate position.

Experience:
The position is aimed at recent graduates or those nearing graduation, thus requiring no prior professional experience in a similar role. However, candidates should demonstrate strong writing, editing, and analytical skills, which can be developed through academic projects or internships.

Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent writing and editing skills required. While not mandatory, proficiency in additional languages could be beneficial, particularly if they are relevant to the OECD's member countries or its communications needs.

The monthly base salary for the position is 3,780.34 EUR, which is exempt from French income tax, along with additional allowances based on eligibility.
