Job Overview:
The Young Associate (YA) position within the Environment and Economy Integration (EEI) Division of the OECD is designed for a dynamic individual who will serve as a junior policy Analyst/Advisor. The selected candidate will report directly to the Head of the EEI Division and will be responsible for conducting policy analysis and background research on various topics relevant to the division's work. This role involves supporting the Head of Division in coordinating contributions to broader horizontal activities, communication, and outreach efforts. The ideal candidate should possess a background in Environmental Economics, Environmental Policy, or related fields, along with strong analytical and drafting skills. A solid quantitative background is highly desirable due to the technical nature of the division's work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Young Associate include conducting policy analysis and background research on themes pertinent to the EEI Division's work. The candidate will draft speeches and presentations for the Head of Division and undertake time-sensitive special projects that support high-priority areas of the division. Additionally, the Young Associate will contribute to initiatives aimed at disseminating the division's work, which includes preparing materials to promote major outputs. The role also requires the candidate to follow the activities of relevant OECD committees and maintain connections with Member Country Delegations and staff from other directorates.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Young Associate position should possess an undergraduate degree in economics, environmental science and policy, public policy, engineering, or a related field, with a graduation date between 1 January 2024 and 1 September 202
- Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree will not be considered. Coursework in economics and quantitative analysis is required, and candidates should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a methodical approach to work. A strong quantitative skill set is considered an asset for this role.
