Job Overview:
The SPINCO Logistics Data Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the logistical article database and ensuring compliance with codification rules. This position is essential for the effective functioning of the SPINCO initiative, which aims to standardize the choice of medical and non-medical articles across MSF sections. The Data Steward will be responsible for creating new logistical articles in UniData, ensuring that all articles have correct codification and descriptions. This role involves acting as the primary point of contact for requests related to article information and collaborating with various stakeholders, including data-owners in European supply centers and field representatives. The position is a maternity replacement at 80% capacity, requiring strong communication skills and a proactive approach to Data Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for all inquiries related to new codes, code changes, or article descriptions.
- Create and validate article codes in compliance with codification rules.
- Maintain effective communication with data-stewards in supply centers and ensure regular follow-ups.
- Safeguard Data Quality by reviewing proposed new codes and labels, ensuring compliance with established rules.
- Guide and assist data-owners in using the code & label generator for creating new articles.
- Monitor data quality indicators and propose necessary changes to maintain accuracy in UniData.
- Respond to field needs by making product information accessible and visible, and by improving the quality of information through regular contact with field missions.
- Generate and share monthly log reports and collaborate with the production team on reporting tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvements in UniData and UniCat by testing new features and sharing suggestions for enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in data management and familiarity with logistical processes are essential. Experience with database Management Systems, particularly in a humanitarian context, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, data management, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in Project Management or data Analysis would be advantageous.
Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2-3 years of experience in logistics or data management roles, preferably within the humanitarian sector. Experience working with databases and understanding supply chain processes is crucial for this position.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French or Spanish is considered an asset. Knowledge of other languages relevant to MSF operations may also be beneficial.
Additional Notes:
This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months at 80% capacity (4 days a week). The position is based in any MSF office, with the successful candidate typically offered a contract in their country of residence at the time of application. Compensation and benefits will align with MSF practices in the respective entity.
