Job Overview:
As the Senior Program Manager for the Strengthening Families for Thriving Children initiative, you will lead and manage this critical program within CRS. Your role will encompass overseeing the quality of program implementation, ensuring that monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) processes are effectively integrated. You will collaborate with CRS staff and strategic partners to ensure that program objectives are met on time and within budget, while also developing strategies for sustainability and phase-out. Additionally, you will represent CRS in external engagements and lead Fundraising efforts to support the platform. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the strategic direction of SCP5, ensuring that it aligns with CRS's broader goals and effectively addresses the needs of vulnerable children and families.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include leading the development and implementation of SCP5, overseeing all aspects of program quality and management, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. You will serve as the primary representative for the platform, coordinating with various stakeholders, including public, private, and non-governmental entities. You will be tasked with developing a strategic plan that outlines the direction of the platform through 2030, ensuring integration with the Changing the Way We Care initiative. You will also manage talent within your team, providing coaching and mentoring, and ensuring a safe and productive work environment. Your role will involve facilitating global sessions for SCP5, identifying performance gaps, and coordinating training opportunities for staff. Additionally, you will oversee the Design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems to measure program outcomes, manage risks, and ensure compliance with financial and administrative standards. You will also be responsible for building strategic partnerships and representing CRS at external events.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Social Work, Health Sciences, International Development, International Relations, or a related field. Additional Program Management experience may substitute for some educational requirements. A minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale development or humanitarian grants is required, along with experience in social services, particularly in Child Protection. Candidates should have a proven track record in managing multi-activity projects, Logistics, and budgets, as well as at least 3 years of supervisory experience, including performance evaluation and mentoring.
Educational Background:
A Master's degree in a relevant field such as Social Work, Health Sciences, International Development, or International Relations is required for this position. Candidates with additional program management experience may be considered in lieu of some educational qualifications.
Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of experience in managing large-scale development or humanitarian grants, with a strong emphasis on social services and child protection. Experience in coordinating multiple activities and collaborating with government strategies and policies is essential. Candidates should also have experience with advocacy and influence in humanitarian or Development Projects, as well as a successful history of managing logistics and budgets. Supervisory experience of at least 3 years is also required.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while fluency in French is preferred. This language proficiency is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The position may require travel approximately 25% of the time. The role involves supervising up to six technical and project management staff and consultants.
