Job Overview:
The Senior Partnerships and Development Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing the Fundraising strategy for SEforALL. This position requires a strategic thinker who can identify and develop high-value funding opportunities and partnerships. The manager will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to mobilize resources from various sectors, including government, philanthropy, and the private sector. The role involves overseeing the production of fundraising materials, managing donor relationships, and ensuring effective communication of the organization's impact to stakeholders. The successful candidate will also lead a team, manage grant processes, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of SEforALL.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop significant high-value funding opportunities and partnerships, including donor identification and risk assessment.
- Develop a comprehensive fundraising vision and strategic direction for the Partnerships and Development (P&D) team.
- Oversee institutional fundraising efforts, working directly with the CEO and Executive Management Committee to mobilize core and programmatic funds.
- Coordinate the production of fundraising materials, including research briefs, concept notes, and grant applications.
- Lead the management of the Funders Council process, including organizing quarterly meetings and ensuring alignment with the organization's strategy.
- Advise Senior Leadership on governance measures to enhance funding success, including legal and regulatory considerations.
- Provide input to organizational strategy and Design" id="link" class="link">Program Design to maximize funding opportunities.
- Manage the execution of the P&D work plan and budget, ensuring alignment with funding changes.
- Motivate and lead a team of professionals, overseeing performance management and strategic course corrections.
1 - Oversee grant management, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and timely reporting to funders.
1 - Track fundraising progress and report regularly to senior leadership and stakeholders.
1 - Conduct donor outreach and relationship management, particularly for major donors and prospects.
1 - Oversee donor communications and ensure effective messaging about the organization's impact.
1 - Manage CRM services and ensure team members are trained in their use.
1 - Represent SEforALL at public events and engage in high-level discussions on sustainable energy.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Energy, Economics, Business Studies, Public Policy, Law, or a related discipline. A Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in forming multilateral partnerships for international organizations, preferably in the sustainable development or Energy Sector.
- Proven track record in fundraising and donor relationship management.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree combined with at least 2 additional years of relevant experience may be considered acceptable. The educational background should reflect a strong understanding of energy, economics, or public policy, which are critical to the role.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, particularly in forming partnerships and managing fundraising efforts within international organizations. Experience in the sustainable development or energy sector is highly preferred, as it aligns with SEforALL's mission and objectives.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another UN language, such as French, Chinese, or Spanish, is desirable and would be considered an asset for effective communication in a diverse international environment.
Additional Notes:
This position is classified at the ICS-12 level and is offered as an International Individual Contractor Agreement (IICA-4). The contract duration is ongoing, subject to organizational requirements.
