1. Purpose of Position

The purpose of this role is to lead client engagements of all sizes to help clients execute their strategies. Also responsible for helping to drive new business from existing and new clients. At the Senior Manager level, expectations more directly shift into the realm of selling client engagements in addition to other capabilities. The key growth challenge is developing relationships with senior clients and prospects with an intent to sell them new or follow on projects, to invite them into coalitions, and to further the sales cycle through a series of interactions. To support and lead Palladium projects through providing Business Development support and technical Project Management inputs.

The position is required to continue the development of the techn ical Food & Agriculture Portfolio in developing its range and depth of projects currently being implemented for both Government and private sector clients in KSA and also potentially across the GCC region.

2. Primary responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Manager, Consulting, are to:
  • Take leadership/project management responsibility on a range of engagement types and oversee project delivery
  • Establish and manage a trusted Advisor relationship with client leadership
  • Understanding client needs and objectives and identifying opportunities for Palladium to support the client in addressing problems and challenges related to growth
  • Where relevant, providing insight into industry and business issues
  • Informing the hypotheses and recommendations of the project team
  • Developing Palladium’s relationship with the client
  • Integrating work across multiple projects within a client account
  • Partnering with other Palladium colleagues to identify and pursue new business leads
  • Document and develop new methodology and offerings
  • Manage scope creep and execute change orders when needed
  • Ensure the project is delivered on-time and at margin targets, managing client expectations
  • Identify and pursue leads from training events
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team on client deliverables
  • Contribute to research, Analysis and publication of technical studies, case studies, policy and programme approaches and results to demonstrate thought leadership;
  • Manage the identification, assessment and pursuit of new business opportunities, contributing to the analysis of our prospects for winning opportunities;
3. Reporting requirements

The role reports to the Market Leader.

Reporting requirements include:
  • Attendance at all weekly and/or management team meetings.
  • Regular updates with your manager.
  • Monthly submission of assigned project forecasts and activity reports
  • A monthly update on the status of your KRAs, as well as any other important areas of concern.
  • Exception reports as and when required.
  • Any other reporting request as requested by your manager.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum education and experience required

  • Experience in business development.
  • Experience in managing large scale projects and project teams.
  • Experience in managing complex or multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience in collaborating with donors, investors and creating multi-stakeholder coalitions.
  • Strong relevant years of business experience, preferably in multi-client consulting environment.
  • Balanced skills in general Problem Solving, concept development, project management, and facilitation.
  • Experience with Performance Management methodologies, particularly the Kaplan/Norton framework, is desirable.
  • Experience leading teams in the delivery of consulting services.
