We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Senior Capacity Development Coordinator in Mexico.

Project Description: FHI 360 seeks a Senior Capacity Development Coordinator for a USAID civil society strengthening program in Mexico. Through the Resilient Civil Society Activity (RSA), USAID/Mexico will strengthen Civil Society Organizations’ (CSOs) ability to develop and apply evidence-based solutions to priority development challenges. The activity will develop CSOs’ organizational and technical capacity to advance evidence-based solutions and network more effectively with allies and partners, providing opportunities for engagement and collaboration with other stakeholders. RSA is expected to be a crosscutting activity that will support CSOs working on USAID/Mexico’s strategic priorities in crime and violence prevention, justice, Human Rights, transparency, and Sustainable landscapes.

Job Responsibilities: The Senior Capacity Development Coordinator will contribute to the Activity’s efforts to strengthen the operational, technical, and financial sustainable capacities of Mexican CSOs. The coordinator will lead the development and implementation of organizational capacity evaluations, assessments, and capacity strengthening plans for CSOs to improve the quality of their work, their ability to provide key services, and their contributions to local networks. The coordinator will also be responsible for strengthening local systems and collaborative networks focused on crime and violence prevention, justice, human rights, transparency, and sustainable landscapes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent – in Community Development, Law, Social Work, Public or Business Administration, or a related field; a graduate degree is desirable;
  • Must have at least four (4) years of prior of demonstrated experience strengthening local Mexican Intermediate Support Organizations (ISOs) and CSOs;
  • Proven experience in capacity development, including systemic approaches and the implementation of organizational strengthening plans;
  • Experience supporting USAID initiatives and/or any other international agency initiatives (USAID experience preferred);
  • Experience strengthening networks and promoting multi-sector initiatives;
  • Prior experience with private sector engagement is highly desirable;
  • Must possess demonstrated knowledge on USAID’s Local Systems framework and Capacity Development 2.0;
  • Fluent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English required.
