Job Overview:
The Senior Advisor for Health, Safety and Security Learning and Development is a strategic role focused on designing, developing, and leading the implementation of learning and development initiatives related to health, safety, and security at individual, team, and organizational levels. This position is part of the Health, Safety and Security Unit (HSSU) and aims to enhance CRS's organizational resilience through effective learning solutions. Key responsibilities include conducting learning needs assessments, creating frameworks to address these needs, and developing innovative learning solutions that support CRS's agility in delivering programs globally. The role also involves fostering relationships with external partners to enhance training opportunities and ensuring the continuous growth and retention of HSS trainers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a thought leader within the HSS Unit, responsible for developing and maintaining innovative solutions to support the learning journeys of CRS staff, focusing on technology-enhanced delivery.
- Collaboratively develop a global HSS learning and development strategy aligned with CRS's strategic direction and best practices.
- Integrate an agile Monitoring Evaluation and Learning methodology in Coordination with the Knowledge, Management and Learning (KML) unit.
- Maintain and improve incident Analysis processes, utilizing trends and lessons learned to update HSS learning content.
- Identify training needs through cross-departmental engagement and define solutions to meet these needs.
- Foster relationships with strategic partners to enhance access to training facilities and new learning approaches.
- Develop a program for talent identification and retention of HSS trainers, ensuring annual proficiency is documented and utilized for planning.
- Promote local partner organizations' participation in learning initiatives to build long-term local capacities.
- Assist in strengthening regional and organizational incident and Crisis Management training to improve readiness for critical incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- MA or EdD in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 10 years of experience in adult education Curriculum Development or relevant work in education/training/learning and development/international development.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering training based on adult learning principles.
- Experience in delivering technology-enhanced solutions and developing organizational strategies at a global scale.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree (MA or EdD) in a relevant field or demonstrate equivalent relevant work experience. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of adult learning and development in an international context.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in adult education, curriculum development, or related fields. Candidates should have a proven track record in designing and delivering Training Programs, particularly in the areas of health, safety, and security. Experience in international development or the NGO sector is highly desirable, as is familiarity with technology-enhanced learning solutions.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in another language such as French, Spanish, or Arabic is preferred, as it can enhance communication and training delivery in diverse contexts.
Additional Notes:
This is a remote telecommuter position, allowing for flexibility in location. The role may require travel approximately 10-15% of the time, primarily to various CRS regions, including remote areas with limited amenities.
