Job Overview:
The mission of Solidarités International in France began in March 2020 in response to the consequences of the health crisis. Initially conceived as an Emergency intervention, the mission has evolved to address the challenges of access to water and sanitation for 'unconnected' populations living in extreme precariousness, particularly those residing in informal settlements such as slums and squats. The main objective of the position of Responsable Lutte contre la précarité menstruelle is to organize and implement activities aimed at reducing the economic, social, and health vulnerabilities associated with menstruation for individuals living in degraded housing. This role involves leading projects to improve access to menstrual hygiene materials and enhancing knowledge about women's health issues throughout their lives. The position also contributes to the broader goal of hygiene promotion and Community Mobilization efforts related to water and sanitation practices.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Responsable Lutte contre la précarité menstruelle include:
- Organizing and implementing activities that address menstrual poverty among vulnerable populations.
- Leading projects that improve access to menstrual hygiene products.
- Enhancing community knowledge regarding women's health issues and menstrual hygiene.
- Engaging in community mobilization efforts to raise awareness about hygiene practices.
- Developing partnerships and managing project activities effectively.
- Monitoring and evaluating project indicators and planning activities accordingly.
- Building relationships with partners, teams, and the target populations.
- Ensuring that all interventions align with the overall mission of promoting hygiene and sanitation.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of menstrual poverty issues, particularly as they affect women.
- Experience in project management, including monitoring indicators and planning activities.
- Skills in community mobilization and engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with partners, teams, and communities.
- Excellent writing skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in Project Development.
Educational Background:
A minimum educational requirement of BAC +2 or equivalent is necessary for this position. This educational background should ideally be complemented by relevant training or coursework related to public health, social work, or Community Development.
Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in project management, particularly in contexts related to community health or social services. Experience working with vulnerable populations, especially in informal settlements, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the specific challenges of menstrual hygiene management is also important.
Languages:
Proficiency in Romanian or Bulgarian is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of Albanian or English is considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The position is offered on a part-time basis, with a gross salary of EUR 2865 per month for full-time work. The contract is a fixed-term contract (CDD) for 9 months, with the possibility of renewal.
