Job Description

  Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters Duty Stations.

Description of task Under the direct supervision of Technical Officer Partnerships and Resource Mobilization and overall guidance of Deputy WHO Representative to Indonesia, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
  • Produce situation reports for WHO’s Covid-19 response. This includes gathering updates from technical teams; coordinating of epidemiological, Health Systems, and public health surveillance data, presentation, verification and interpretation; and editing technical language to be comprehensive for lay audience.
  • Consult with technical teams to Design overall presentation of content, graphic elements and layout for publications to creatively present WHO’s interventions.
  • Develop grant proposals and reports, in collaboration with technical teams. This may include editing language, creating graphics and statistical summaries and ensuring quality and compliance with donor requirements.
  • Collaborate with all programme areas to follow up on their workplan and produce feature stories and technical documents to present WHO’s work to stakeholders through publications on progress and results. This may include collecting content, comparing old and revised guidance, researching relevant reports and background documents to verify accurate technical information reiteration, and data presentation and interpretation.
  • Coordinate closely with the communications team on joint projects; including designing infographics, photo editing and developing a photo library in line with technical activities.
  • Establish a repository of research reports, studies and evaluations that WHO supported in collaboration with the government, national and international agencies.
  • Attend and report on relevant meetings, conferences and trainings.
  • Work as advised by the Technical Officer Partnerships and Resource Mobilization to collaborate with other programme areas as and when required.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Bachelor degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments: First degree in life science or social science or international development or International Relations or any related field.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • Experience in developing technical reports and publications for Health Sector interventions, including drafting content and designing layout, illustrations, maps, charts, tables, and infographics.
  • Experience in sourcing and improving images for publications.
Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise: Public information and reporting, Other communications related experience, Knowledge Management, archiving and documentation Area of expertise details: Intermediate working knowledge of Adobe creative software (such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
