Job Overview:
The Registry Intern position is situated within the Information Management Unit, specifically in the Library, Archives, and Legacy team. The intern will play a crucial role in assisting with the preservation of the Court's archives and institutional memory. This position is ideal for candidates who are in the early stages of their professional careers and are looking to gain valuable experience in the field of information management, archives, and Records Management. The intern will be expected to work full-time for a duration of three to six months, contributing to various projects that support the ICC's mission of accountability and justice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to: assisting the Legacy and Archives team with the appraisal, accessioning, and description of archival print and digital records; digitizing records as necessary to ensure their preservation; processing and packaging physical items according to best practices in archival management; responding to reference requests from staff or outside researchers; monitoring the environmental conditions in the archive to ensure the preservation of materials; and completing individual projects as agreed upon with the team. The intern will also have the opportunity to engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall goals of the Information Management Unit.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree or be in the final stages of their studies at a recognized university, with a strong academic record. While a qualification in archives, records management, or museum studies is desirable, it is not a strict requirement. The ICC values diversity and encourages applications from candidates of various backgrounds, particularly those from non-represented and under-represented countries. Strong teamwork skills, adaptability to multicultural environments, and proficiency in Computer Applications, including Microsoft Office, are essential for success in this role.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree or near completion of a degree from a recognized university. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a very good academic performance. While specific qualifications in archives or records management are not mandatory, they are considered beneficial for the role.
Experience:
The position is targeted at candidates who are in the early stages of their professional careers. Practical experience is not a prerequisite for selection; however, any relevant experience may be considered an asset. It is important to note that any prior working experience should not exceed three years, ensuring that the Internship remains an opportunity for learning and development.
Languages:
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, either French or English, is mandatory. A working knowledge of the other language is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of another official language of the Court, such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to contribute to the diverse environment of the ICC.

The internship is unfunded, meaning that the ICC does not provide any remuneration or reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship. Candidates must be able to support themselves financially for the entire duration of their internship, which can range from three to six months.
