Job Overview:
The Registry Intern position is designed for individuals who are in the early stages of their professional careers and are looking to gain practical experience in an international legal environment. The intern will support the Immediate Office of the Registrar (IOR) by conducting background research, drafting documents, and assisting in various administrative tasks. This role provides an opportunity to learn about the functioning of the ICC and contribute to its mission of promoting justice and accountability. Interns are expected to work full-time for a period of three to six months, with flexibility in start dates, allowing for a tailored experience that aligns with their academic and professional goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for conducting background research on various matters to support the work of the Registrar. This includes drafting minutes for meetings, letters, speaking points, and other documents as required. The intern will assist in drafting legal and policy memoranda, reports, and analyses on assigned topics. Additionally, the intern will help update and produce content for the IOR intranet site and perform any other duties as assigned by the Registrar or the IOR team. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess an academic background in Political Science, Law, management, Journalism/Public Information, or a related field. While practical experience is not a prerequisite, any relevant experience may be considered an asset, provided it does not exceed three years. The ideal candidate should demonstrate adaptability to multicultural and multilingual environments, possess strong teamwork skills, and have a good standard of computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.

Educational Background:
A relevant academic background is essential for this position. Candidates should be pursuing or have completed a degree in political science, law, management, journalism/public information, or a related field. This educational foundation will equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the work of the ICC.

Experience:
The Internship is targeted at candidates in the early stages of their professional careers. While prior practical experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in a similar field may enhance the candidate's application. However, it is important to note that such experience should not exceed three years, ensuring that the internship remains accessible to recent graduates and those new to the workforce.

Languages:
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, either French or English, is required for this position. A working knowledge of the other language is considered an asset. Additionally, knowledge of another official language of the Court, such as Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is also advantageous. This linguistic proficiency will facilitate effective communication within the diverse environment of the ICC.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unfunded, meaning that the ICC does not provide any remuneration or reimbursement for expenses incurred during the internship. Candidates must be able to support themselves financially for the entire duration of their placement. The contract duration for the internship is between three and six months, with full-time commitment expected.
