ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending Extreme Poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust Data Protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

Unit Context:

The ITS Rapid Application Development (ITSRD or RAD) offers fee-based services across the World Bank Group to help quickly solve specific business problems that fall out of scope from enterprise information technology solutions. RAD uses an accelerated, collaborative, and agile approach to develop these solutions for business partners by providing a full-service approach that includes:
  • Assisting clients to navigate the World Bank IT processes and procedures more efficiently;
  • Providing fast turnaround on Software Development and enhancements to new and existing applications that fall out of scope from enterprise IT offerings; and
  • Offering quality deliverables and scalable solutions for individual business needs.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Work as an IT Analyst, Project Management on software Development Projects for ITSRD clients. Analyze software requirements and change proposals to ensure testability, develop comprehensive test scripts, execute scripts according to schedule and prioritize defects. Work with the client, business Analysis teams, and development teams to resolve any issues, participate in requirements gathering meetings and support system and user acceptance testing.

  • Review functional and Design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Develop and document test plans and create/update test cases based on functional/technical specifications.
  • Perform functional and regression testing in an SDLC environment.
  • Identify and track bugs using bug tracking and management tools.
  • Work with the software development team to resolve any issues that arise out of the testing process.
  • Inform the QA lead of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the product or the testing process.
  • Attend daily scrum meetings of the assigned projects, act as a liaison between the development and QA team.
  • Strive to continuously improve and automate testing.
Selection Criteria

  • Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of Business Analysis/software testing and project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Web applications and Web services.
  • Must have experience with Agile methodology and the ability to test in a multi test environment.
  • Managing, organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written and oral communications.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational skills to track and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong analysis and stakeholder management skills.
  • Team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
  • Stays abreast of new trends and business developments in own specialty area, the broader industry, and experiments with new approaches or emerging technological solutions to current business needs.
  • Track record of building partnerships to effectively deliver on projects in a cross-functional environment and driving those projects to completion.
Required Skills:

  • Product presentation and documentation and client communication expertise.
  • Experience in documenting issues using ALM, JIRA, Confluence, and Splunk.
  • Experience using test management tools (HP Quality Center, TFS Test plan).
  • Experience using automation or performance testing and tools, including QTP, LoadRunner, Selenium Webdriver.
  • Experience using issue tracking software (JIRA, Microsoft TFS or TestTrack Pro).
  • Experience with 508 testing and tools, including Jenkins, JAWS and AccVerify.
  • Experience with programing languages, including JAVA, Python and C++.
