Job Description

  Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters Duty Stations.

Description of task Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Business and Human Rights Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will:
  • Ensure the Design of programme monitoring and reporting procedures, tools, policies, and strategies and coordinate overall monitoring and reporting of results
  • Responsible for clear reporting under the project results framework, while providing for support to any quarterly and annual reporting processes
  • Implementation of monitoring policies and strategies
  • Management of the monitoring, Data Collection and reporting process
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and Knowledge Sharing on monitoring and evaluation
  • Coordinates overall monitoring and reporting of results
  • Key programming support in the design and operationalization of some regional and country level tasks may also be undertaken to support results.
Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:
  • Advanced higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant area, e.g. statistics, international development or area related to Human Rights. A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Required experience: 36 Months Experience remark:
  • At least 3 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in Monitoring and Evaluation, data collection, or Data Quality assessment, or other relevant programmes; experience with UNDP, EU-funded project is an asset;
  • Excellent written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with Database Management; and office technology equipment;
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
