Job Overview:
The Procurement Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in the day-to-day implementation of the procurement function within the organization. Under the guidance of the Logistics Team Leader (Procurement), the assistant will ensure that all procurement processes adhere to NRC policies, donor requirements, and established guidelines. The assistant will also be involved in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and logistic reports, contributing to the overall improvement of the procurement function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Procurement Technical Assistant include ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, implementing delegated logistic functions, conducting daily operational logistic activities, and supporting resource Administration. The assistant will prepare logistic reports, develop SOPs, and maintain proper filing of support documents. Specific responsibilities involve contributing to the development of logistics as a support service, consulting with program and support staff for generating purchase requests (PRs), conducting market surveys, and participating in procurement planning. The assistant will also be responsible for managing procurement documentation, verifying invoices, ensuring proper clearance of imported goods, handling complaints, tracking long-term agreements, and inputting data into the Agresso procurement system. Additionally, the assistant will conduct cash purchases as needed and report any potential fraud cases to the Line Manager.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess experience working with procurement in a humanitarian, Emergency, or recovery context, as well as previous experience in complex and volatile environments. Documented results related to the position's responsibilities are essential. Proficiency in Office software, particularly Word and Excel, is required. Candidates should also have some knowledge of English, both written and verbal, to facilitate communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Educational Background:
