Job Overview:
The Procurement Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the operational procurement team at AIIB, specifically in Brazil and surrounding regions. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Procurement Consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: conducting project procurement risk assessments and recommending risk mitigation measures; reviewing recipients’ proposed project delivery strategies and procurement plans; evaluating tender documentation, tender evaluation reports, and draft contracts; addressing complaints from tenderers/consultants regarding the procurement process; analyzing the suitability of country procurement systems for AIIB-financed projects; engaging with local and international business communities to promote business opportunities; and providing training on procurement issues and the implementation of AIIB’s procurement policies. The consultant will also support the operational procurement team in the preparation and implementation of projects financed by AIIB.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 8-10 years of procurement experience in infrastructure projects financed by multilateral Development Banks or equivalent organizations. They should have a sound understanding of international best practices in infrastructure tendering and contracting strategies, as well as professional knowledge of public procurement systems and legislation in Brazil. Experience working with MDBs or international/bilateral aid agencies on procurement policies is essential. Familiarity with procurement by private sector entities, public-private partnerships, and similar arrangements is advantageous. Strong analytical, Project Management, and problem-solving skills are required, along with a proven track record in managing integrity issues with vendors.
Educational Background:
