Job Overview:
The Planned Giving Officer plays a crucial role within the Philanthropy Fundraising team at MSF Canada. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive planned giving communications and stewardship program. The officer will manage Marketing initiatives related to planned giving and will work to integrate outreach activities aimed at growing the planned giving portfolio and income year after year. The role involves overseeing relationship management with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent flow of confirmed, prospective, and retained planned giving donors. The officer will also support the organization in building awareness and strategies for planned giving events, collaborating with other fundraising teams to identify potential leads, and providing regular reports and data maintenance for the planned giving initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Planned Giving Officer will be tasked with building and nurturing long-lasting relationships with donors. This includes supporting and developing planned giving events and awareness strategies, collaborating with other fundraising teams to identify warm leads, and offering regular reports and data maintenance for the planned giving and other MSF fundraising teams. The officer will also be responsible for managing a donor portfolio, which includes maintaining relationships with third-party vendors and external relationships such as financial advisors. Additionally, the officer will need to prioritize client, customer, and donor requests, ensuring that all interactions are handled with professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate fluency in English and a commitment to the principles of MSF, including cross-cultural awareness and equity. They should possess competencies in service orientation, networking, relationship building, planning and organizing, as well as results and quality orientation. Experience in managing a donor portfolio and relationships with third-party vendors is essential, along with a background in customer service. Strong Database Management skills and experience with fundraising software are also required, as is a commitment to professional ethics and safeguarding client confidentiality at all times.
Educational Background:
