Company: Green Climate FundThe Green Climate Fund (“GCF”) is a new multilateral fund created to make a significant and ambitious contribution to the global efforts towards attaining the goals set by the international community to combat Climate Change.
GCF will contribute to the achievement of the ultimate objective of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). In the context of sustainable development, GCF will promote the paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change, taking into account the needs of those developing countries particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change.
GCF is governed by a Board, composed of an equal representation of developed and developing countries. The Fund is operated by an independent Secretariat headed by an Director" id="link" class="link">Executive Director. GCF will pursue a country-driven approach in its operations.
The Fund seeks to recruit a Pipeline Management Assistant Consultant to join the Division of Mitigation and Adaptation (DMA) who will work remotely. The consultancy appointment will be an open contract for approximately 130 days over a 9 month period contract.
Under the supervision of Portfolio Associate Professional for pipeline management, the Consultant will support the Secretariat to generate, maintain, report, and utilize high quality pipeline reports for the Board and regular publications.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the guidance of Portfolio Associate Professional, the Pipeline Management Consultant will be responsible for but not limited to: • Assist in the collection, verification and dissemination of data needed for the pipeline report, project document publication and knowledge products; and • Support the pipeline management, undertaking the Administration and improvement of pipeline database Management Systems, including FP service account, Integrated Portfolio Management System (iPMS) and Online Submission System (OSS), and coordinating with CIC as a DMA focal point.
Required experience and qualifications
- Minimum one year with a master’s level degree or two – three years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or relevant combination of education and experience in a related sectoral field of climate science, mitigation and adaptation; - Strong competence and professional skills in standard software such as Excel and Access, and/or Data Analytics software such as Tableau; - M&E work experience for Analysis in organizing materials; - Hands-on experience and proficiency in Database Management and/or system programming is an asset; and - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
