Job Overview:
The Payroll Officer will play a vital role in supporting international organizations with payroll administration and accounting. This position requires a motivated individual who can manage pension files, process annual pensioner questionnaires, and maintain strong relationships with pensioners. The officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Pension Scheme Rules, entering data into payroll software, generating payroll reports, and providing high-quality customer service. The role involves administrative support tasks as needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the Payroll Administration Unit. The ideal candidate will be part of a highly skilled and diverse workforce, working collaboratively to deliver essential services to international civil servants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Payroll Officer's duties include preparing and maintaining pensioners' files, calculating new pensioners' rights, entering data into payroll software for monthly pension payments, managing file scanning and archiving, administering monthly changes, generating payroll reports, and transmitting payment data to relevant organizations. The officer will oversee individual files, including cessation of pension rights, process annual pensioner questionnaires, send reminders for updates, and maintain strong relationships with pensioners. Additionally, the officer will act as a liaison between pensioners and internal/external stakeholders to resolve issues, deliver high-quality customer service, and perform other administrative and secretarial tasks as required to support the Payroll Administration Unit.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a post-secondary academic background with training in office automation, accounting, compensation & benefits, or a related field. A strong understanding of payroll operations is essential, and familiarity with HR Access payroll software is a plus. Candidates should possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to use complex functions effectively. Experience with Microsoft Access is advantageous. Educational Background:

Experience:
A minimum of 4 years' experience in a payroll or accounting role is required, ideally within an international environment. This experience will ensure that the candidate is well-versed in the intricacies of payroll management and can effectively navigate the challenges that arise in an international context.
Languages:
Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) is mandatory, along with knowledge of the other language, with a commitment to reach a good working level. Knowledge of additional languages such as German and/or Dutch would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of pensioners and stakeholders.
Additional Notes:
The position offers a two-year fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of renewal. The monthly salary starts at 3,705.85 EUR, plus allowances based on eligibility, and is exempt from French income tax. The selection process may include a video-recorded interview, job-based assessment, and panel interviews.
