Job Overview:
The Partnership Officer for Institutional Engagement and Regional Cooperation will play a crucial role in supporting AIIB's global engagement and nonregional partnership work. This position is situated within the Operational Partnership Department (OPD), which is responsible for managing operational partnerships with multilateral organizations and stakeholders. The officer will engage in partnership identification and business opportunities specifically in the African and Latin American regions. The role involves providing analytical support on global policy developments, coordinating AIIB's participation in high-level international conferences, and supporting operational engagement with partners. The officer will also explore relationships with finance providers to create investment opportunities and facilitate interactive sessions on partnership topics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Partnership Officer include:
- Supporting AIIB’s engagement in global policy forums and multilateral affairs, collaborating with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), G20, United Nations, and other stakeholders.
- Preparing and coordinating AIIB's participation in high-level international conferences such as G20 meetings, COP, and Annual Meetings of MDBs.
- Providing analytical support on global policy developments and trends to shape AIIB's global policy approach.
- Supporting operational and knowledge engagement with operational partners in AIIB's regional and nonregional Members, including bilateral and multilateral development institutions.
- Providing Operational Support for AIIB’s engagement with global and regional initiatives/platforms to identify cross-border connectivity project opportunities.
- Exploring and developing relationships with upstream and concessional finance providers to create investment opportunities.
- Designing and facilitating the Partnership Forum with interactive sessions on topics relevant to AIIB’s partnerships.
- Conducting any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or Director General.
Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Partnership Officer position include:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant working experience in multilateral affairs, External Relations, and/or partnership building within international Development Finance.
- Experience in project operation and strategic partnership development in African and Latin American markets, with a demonstrated understanding of development issues in AIIB’s nonregional Members.
- Ability to produce, combine, and apply policy, financing, technical, and knowledge to complete complex assignments.
- Superior client orientation and the ability to work with all levels of staff, management, clients, and partners.
- Experience in leading professional conferences or workshops and conducting stakeholder consultations.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or higher in finance, business, economics, International Relations, public policy, or related fields from a reputable university. This advanced education is essential to understand the complexities of international development finance and to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
Experience:
The level of experience needed for the Partnership Officer position is significant, with a minimum of eight years in relevant fields such as multilateral affairs, external relations, and partnership building. Candidates should have a proven track record of working efficiently under time pressure and in multicultural environments, demonstrating their ability to navigate complex international development contexts.
Languages:
The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent proficiency in professional writing and speaking required. Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Portuguese, or Spanish would be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders across different regions.
