As the Logistics-manager" id="link" class="link">Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the logistic set up is according to NRC standard and to support programme / Project Implementation.  



Specific responsibilities

Manage a Supply Chain of both national and international vendors capable of responding to a medium to large scale Emergency response Establish and manage a good network with the Government of Sudan especially the HAC , Customs , relevant ministries to ensure timely clearance and delivery of humanitarian aid Establish Emergency Response warehouse facilities capable of supporting a rapid response mechanism Deliver monthly logistics reports as required through established mechanisms Manage a logistics team capable of responding to medium to a large-scale emergency response Establish policies, guidelines and adapt SoPs for the logistics department where necessary and ensure that all staff have a good understanding of logistics procedures Invest in coaching, training and Capacity Building of logistics staff both in area offices and the Country Office

Generic professional competencies: 

Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Logistics Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts Knowledge and skills in market assessments, Analysis and cash-based interventions Knowledge about own leadership skills/profiles Valid driver’s license 

Desired Qualities: 

Well versed and experience in large scale emergency response Resilient in active, low/ medium  scale armed conflict Ability to withstand high levels of stress and criticism Ability to deliver under high levels of pressure Very good negotiation skills Very high levels of problem-solving skills Able to manage a budding and not very skilled logistics team Ability to work in a multicultural team Analytic and high levels of patience to drive results  Critical thinker and strategy oriented

24 months fixed term contract We aim to attract either national or internationally experienced candidates; starting monthly pay for an international contract is NOK 50,744.
