Job Overview:
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for implementing and supervising all Logistics Operations at the assigned base in Kharkiv. This role involves organizing logistic support for various programs in accordance with Solidarités International procedures. The Logistics Manager will also assist the base manager or field Coordinator in enforcing safety rules. The position requires supervising the logistics team, pursuing departmental objectives, and providing methodological support to program and support teams on technical logistics questions. The role is critical in ensuring that logistics operations are well-integrated across all departments and aligned with the organization's strategic goals, particularly in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Manager's duties include supervising the logistics department's team, implementing departmental objectives, and ensuring effective communication and integration with other departments. The manager will provide advice and support on logistics-related technical questions, oversee procurement processes, and manage transport and field management activities. Additionally, the manager will be responsible for training logistics assistants, completing procurement for ongoing projects, and launching procurement procedures for future projects. The role also involves adapting to Security constraints and ensuring that the logistics operations are responsive to the dynamic situation in Kharkiv.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in logistics management and have a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Previous experience in similar positions is highly desirable. The role requires strong technical skills in procurement, transport, and field management, as well as transversal skills such as communication, proactivity, versatility, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Educational Background:
A Master's degree in logistics management is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to manage logistics operations effectively in a humanitarian context.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for candidates who have held similar roles in the past. Experience in training and coaching logistics teams is considered an asset, as the Logistics Manager will be responsible for developing the skills of the logistics assistants.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Ukrainian and Russian is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication within the local context and enhance the effectiveness of logistics operations.

This position is a short-term contract with a duration of five months, starting on October 1, 202
- The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2,310 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of EUR 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses for expatriates. The organization implements a system of breaks during assignments, allowing for time off every three months, along with additional rest days. An insurance package is provided to expatriates, covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. Despite the security challenges in Kharkiv, the city offers a vibrant atmosphere with various activities, restaurants, and amenities for expatriates.
